Town of Barnstable: Brand Ecosystem in Action

Since 2014, I’ve partnered with the Town of Barnstable’s Planning & Development Department to develop and evolve a brand system that positions the department as accessible, forward-thinking, community-minded, and distinct from the broader town government. I created a visual identity that could be easily implemented across internal teams, even within outdated government software.

This work has spanned websites, digital and printed communications, and public-facing resources like a Local Comprehensive Plan, water protection guides, and business development tools. For the department’s Business Barnstable website, I worked with stakeholders to map the information architecture, designed the visual language, and built the site on Squarespace.

sparselands: Design for Ecological Understanding

sparselands is a self-initiated zine series on the ecology of the Chihuahuan Desert, made to share place-based knowledge with my community in West Texas. I handled everything: research, expert interviews, writing, illustration, layout, production, and distribution. The work used interpretive graphics and accessible narrative to make abstract systems more accessible, meaningful, and engaging.

Visa Direct: Story-Driven Product Demos

As a UX designer supporting Visa Direct Global from 2022 to 2025, I turned backend product offerings into clickable prototypes and static images for sales decks. I worked closely with a stakeholder who bridged product and marketing, turning loose scenarios into finished demos. I built and maintained a flexible Figma component library that let us deliver quickly across different user types and custom brand themes, within strict legal and presentation limits like limited screens and no scrolling capabilities.

Dell: Visual Toolkit for Product Experiences

On a multidisciplinary team building a UX Interoperability Toolkit, I created the visual portion of the toolkit: reusable illustration components and templates in Figma that let Dell teams picture complex, cross-product experiences. I used nested components and variants so people who aren’t designers could build their own scenes while staying consistent. It gave strategy, design, and development a shared visual language.
